The annual day event of Harvest college,’Ensemble’, which takes place every year at the St.John’s auditorium, is aimed at showing the extra-curricular talents of the students. The event features dance, music, fashion-show and skits.Apart from the various cultural programmes, the students who are brilliant in their studies are felicitated.
This year’s ‘Ensemble’ was spectacular (as in every year). The programme was proof that the campus had ample talent. The chief guest of the day, Principal Ms.Daksha Khanna, remarked rather proudly “This event is aimed at showing the world that Harvestians are the best in both academics and art “.
The programmes that followed were a testimonial to what the principal said. They were not only innovative but also brilliantly executed. The Bharatnatyam adaptation of Ed Sheeran’s popular number “shape of you” and the raging hit “despacito” stood out for its modernistic approach. With a large number of Malayali students on campus, can the sensational hit “jhimikki
kammal” be ignored? The electrified audience was seen shaking their legs to that foot-tapping number. The skit focused on the ill-effects of global warming on the environment. The highly anticipated fashion-show did not disappoint either. The students pulled off a dazzling show where they sashayed to catchy tunes displaying an array of chic attires. A couple of songs in the music show seemed slightly off-kilter though.
The students who were felicitated for their academic brilliance could not contain their jubilation;”I’m absolutely thrilled to bits – I’m ecstatic! I’m so proud !” one of the students remarked upon receiving the award.
The Principal asserted that annual day gives the artistically inclined students a platform to display their talents and that the college intends to make it bigger and better with each passing year.
